Why use beard oil?
For many men, sprouting hair on their face is the easy part. The challenge is the dry and flaky skin, itching and beardruff that can make growing and maintaining a beard difficult.

Beard oil moisturises and softens beard hair, conditions the skin underneath, and helps to shape one’s beard. Oh and it smells nice too. Short beards, long beards and just starting out beards look and feel better with regular use of beard oil. Check out our blog What is beard oil anyway and why use it? for more information.
How do I apply beard oil?
Applying beard oil is easy. Get some drops into the palm of one hand and rub together with the other, making sure the oil is applied to your fingers as well. Then, apply to your beard by using the palms of your hands to coat the beard and your fingers to work the oil into the skin beneath. Finally, shape and style how you see fit using a comb, brush or hands.

For shorter beards, 2-3 drops of beard oil per application should be sufficient. For medium to long beards, 4 or more drops will be needed. Apply more if you have dry skin. This is just a rough guide and everyone is different. You will soon find out what works to get your beard looking its best.
When is the best time to apply beard oil?
After you have showered. Your beard will be clean and your pores open from the steam, aiding absorption of the oil. Towel dry your beard, then whack some beard oil into your face mane as desired.
How often do I apply beard oil?
1 to 2 times per day depending on your beard and skin. For dry skin, consider applying twice a day. You may also find that hot weather dries out your beard and skin, requiring more than one application of beard oil during the day.

If applying once a day, after showering in the morning is best. If applying twice per day, in the morning and before bed are good times.

There is no right or wrong answer here. Everyone is different. As a guide, apply more if your beard and skin feels dry and use less if it feels too oily.
Can I use beard oil and beard balm together?
Yes. These products complement each other. Beard oil moistures the skin and hair, whereas balm helps shape your beard and tames fly away hairs (as well as moisturising the hairs). Again, it depends on your beard and skin. Some people find using both products mean their face and beard are too oily. For others this isn’t a problem. If you are tossing up between using one product or the other go for beard oil.

All our products are made in North Canterbury, New Zealand. A Gent’s Remit uses high-quality organic and natural ingredients that are great for your hair and skin. Every product is trialled by real-life humans before being sold on our online store. We never test anything on animals. Although some of the humans testing the products are pretty hairy…
What is your return policy?
We are happy to refund or replace any of our products that have a manufacturing defect or have been damaged in transit. Take a photo and send an email with a description of the defect or damage to hello@agentsremit.nz and we’ll take it from there. Please notify us within 5 days of receiving your order. As you can appreciate, returns based on change of mind can not be accepted.
